Kathryn M. Rickard, Psy.D.
I have a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA.
For the past 7 years, I have worked with children, teenagers and adults, as individuals or in groups, of both genders, military and civilian, diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. Settings have included forensic inpatient drug rehabilitation centers in San Francisco, counseling centers, such as Norwich University's, and private practice.
As a psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapist, I view self-knowledge as the primary aim of therapy and basis of health.

Patients seek psychotherapy for a variety of reasons. Daily life often generates difficulties and challenges, which overwhelm us and damage our relationships, our work, and/or our personal and professional judgements. Unfinished business from family life can strike unexpectedly. Sometimes we cannot meet these challenges alone. In therapy, personal struggles are worked through in a safe, receptive, and confidential environment. Psychotherapy can help to facilitate self-growth, recovery, and empowerment.
Services
I offer individual face-to-face therapy to children, teenagers and adults of all ages.
Getting Started
An Initial Consultation is provided. This allows us to focus on the nature of our future work together. It is also an opportunity to decide whether you wish to commit to ongoing sessions. If you have any queries or more personal questions, I am happy to discuss these with you by phone or to plan to do so in an Initial Consultation. This is a chance to air your concerns, to decide if personal insight is for you and, if it is, to set a path for our future work together.
